Planning for our Future
We are embarking on a review of our Official Community Plan (OCP) to help prepare the community for a resilient future. The OCP guides land use planning and sets out policies that touch citizen's lives in some way every day.
We will involve the public as we review existing OCP policies within the context of today’s emerging issues, challenges, and trends. At key times throughout the OCP review process, you'll have the opportunity to share your opinions and ideas on the future of our community.

The District of Central Saanich is reviewing and updating its Official Community Plan (OCP), which was adopted in 2008.
What’s an OCP?
The OCP presents the long-term vision for the community. It sets out objectives and policies that guide planning and land use management decisions. It helps us determine how and where we live, work, play and move.
Why update our OCP?
We want to ensure the OCP:
reflects current values and priorities,
addresses current and trending issues, and
prepares the community for challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Your responses to the following questions will help the project team get a better sense of the community’s priorities.
No topic will be left out of the review and update process, but your responses will help us understand whether we need to focus our attention on any specific areas of interest.
